We need Southern African Overland 4×4 vehicles to get to most of our destinations…

The 4×4 vehicles we like to use are a more luxurious but very capable off-road Land Rover Discovery and 2 hardier Land Rover Defenders, plus our brand new Ford ranger all of which have wonderful air-conditioning systems.

These Southern Africa overland 4×4 vehicles were built for conditions like those experienced when off-roading in Southern Africa!

Of course, your own 4×4 vehicles are welcome to join us on any of our guided self drive tours.

Your safety and enjoyment is our primary concern

Therefore we have kitted out our overland vehicles with 2-way radios so we can keep in full touch at all times while on the road.  This is not just for your safety, it makes the trip more fun…we can also use the radios to communicate about an interesting game and bird sightings!

Additionally, each of our cars carries all the essential recovery and safety gear and equipment for ‘just in case’.

Every one of our drivers has completed an advanced 4×4 course, so you are in good hands on any adventure with Southern Africa Overland 4×4 Tours!

Sleeping Accommodation

 Catering and Amenities on a Southern Africa Overland Trip with us…

4×4 driving and looking at Southern African Wildlife all day is hard work!

So…it is very important to make sure that you have a comfortable place to sleep and a fantastic meal to finish the day.

All our guests camp in comfort, who needs a 5-star hotel when you can camp in comfort under a million African stars!

We carry nice big and efficient solar panels and inverters to make sure that we have electricity for our campsites, although who wants electric light when you can see all those stars…?

We supply, and put up big comfortable canvas dome tents in the African bush! Our tents are very roomy and can easily accommodate two stretchers and a night-table inside; plus we put the tents up for you if you join us for our Gold and Silver Packages!

To ensure that all our catering is tip top, our vehicles are supplied with large camping fridges and freezers to ensure that all the ingredients arrive fresh for the very best meals possible; never mind keeping your campsite drink

s ice cold so that you can enjoy a refreshing drink after a hard day’s game viewing.

We pride ourselves on our bush-cooking expertise.  Our guests can expect anything from traditional potjies and braais (BBQ) to a lovely roast with vegetables! We do our best to bring a bit of home-cooking and baking into your adventure, regularly baking bread for our campsite meals, and you even get puddings!
