In Namibia, one finds such substantial wildlife reserves such as Etosha National Park, with hugely varied wildlife, easily observed near its famous water holes.
The country has also the preserved extensive cultural histories of the peoples who have made it their home over the thousands of years since it was first inhabited. These include the San people, whose well-preserved legacy can be seen quite clearly at Brandberg Mountain in Damaraland. The German colonialists have left their mark on places such as Luderitz, which is well worth a visit. It is in this area, also, that one can see the hardy and beautiful wild Namib horses.

Topnaars, a unique clan of Nama people of Namibia, Caprivians, who make their home in the Caprivi Strip; the Rehoboth Basters with their rich multicultural history; the Damara people of Damaraland, whose origins remain an intriguing puzzle to this day; the Herero people; Himba people with their unique hair styles; the Kavango people of the Okavango River area; the Nama peoples with their beautiful music and poetry; the Owambo people of Northern Namibia and Southern Angola; the iconic San people, regarded as the earliest inhabitants of Namibia; the small group of Tswana people who have made Namibia their home. Namibia is also home to a diverse coloured and white population who represent part of the modern history of the country.
The Kalahari Desert and unique Quiver Trees of Southern Namibia make that part of the country well worth a visit;
The remote Skeleton Coast has its own beauty but is a rewarding trip for the brave and the adventurous.
The coastal towns of Swakopmund and Walvis Bay both offer beautiful vistas and options for tourists, with Swakopmund offering more German Colonial history for those interested and a beach resort atmosphere for those who enjoy spending quality time on the beach. Walvis Bay offers easily accessible tourist options such as sandboarding, kiting and surfing (to name but a few) for the adventurous.
