4 Day Kosi Bay Turtles!

Kosi Bay turtles tour is perfect for people that love to see nature in action. Come with us to visit magical Kosi Bay, located on the tip of the Greater St Lucia / iSimangaliso Wetland Park.

Kosi Bay is a World Heritage Site and is located on the north-eastern coast of KwaZulu-Natal. It is close to the border between South Africa and Mozambique so only a 4 hour drive from Durban.

From late November for a few weeks the Kosi Bay Turtles, huge Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles crawl up the beach to dig nests and lay their eggs.

As we camp nearby it is easy to go for a stroll on the beach at night and see these magnificent creatures. The local wildlife rangers know the best spots and love to show us their beautiful place. Later on in February we have the opportunity to watch as their hatchlings head back out to sea.

Viewing the Kosi Bay Turtles is a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed!

Of course there is plenty of other activities to be had while on an overland 4×4 tour of Kosi bay turtles. The snorkeling is world class and fishing for fresh sea food for dinner is great. We also see how the local fishermen made fish traps in the Kosi bays. A bit of everything for us to see and do.
