Berg, Bush and Battlefields tour

We can see for miles over the mountains when on a tour in Lesotho

The Berg, Bush, Beach and Battlefields tour gives you the best of 4 worlds. All in KwaZulu Natal and Lesotho so the driving is kept down to a minimum.

First on the agenda is a relaxing camp right on the beach. Here we explore the magnificent Indian ocean and have an opportunity to do some deep sea fishing. A 4 hour drive sees us in the huge Drakensberg mountains. We drive up the famous Sani pass to check out the beautiful and mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho. You must have a passport to enter Lesotho. We have to stop for a visit in the highest pub in Africa. Then it is further into Lesotho with a 4×4 drive over Black mountain.

We get to 3250m above sea level so the views are amazing.

Another hour of driving and we arrive at our overnight stop. Molumong lodge is a simple but lovely place to stay. Time really stood still here.

We have a nice lamb potjie for dinner and enjoy a cosy fire place.

After some peace and quiet it is back down Sani pass and into South Africa again. We drive about 2 hours to stay at the luxurious Nambiti big 5 reserve. We arrive just in time for an afternoon game drive. This place is a real jewel in the Kzn midlands. We are spoilt with delicious food and are driven around to spot Africa’s incredible wildlife. Doesn’t get much better than this. Early the next morning is another game drive and then off to Spionkop lodge.

While at Spionkop lodge we visit the infamous battle.

Not a great story in human history, the case with all wars but still very interesting. Lots of South Africans as well as other colonists were killed on this little hill. People from all over the world have a little connection to the South African wars because so many other countries were involved.
