Zimbabwe – A Country of Natural Wonders…

Zimbabwe is a country full of natural wonders from the world famous Victoria Falls to the superb wildlife viewing opportunities at Mana Pools National Park, and well worth a visit.  In Zimbabwe you can also explore the architectural prowess of the of ancient African cultures at Great Zimbabwe, where the sense of h9story and place is tangible.

Zimbabwe changed it’s name from Rhodesia when the colonial war finished and Robert Mugabe became Prime minister in 1980. Now about 16 Million people call Zimbabwe their home.

A tour of Zimbabwe should include the world famous Victoria Falls and the superb wildlife viewing opportunities at Mana Pools National Park.  There are a number of National Parks namely Hwange, Chizariza, Mana pools and Gonarezhou where African wild life is everywhere. In Zimbabwe you can also explore the architectural prowess of ancient African cultures at Great Zimbabwe, where the sense of history and place is tangible.

Mzilikazi was a Zulu chief under Chaka who fled to Zimbabwe and together with Cecil Rhodes shaped the land. Rhodes even named the country Rhodesia after himself. Now these two rulers are buried at the Motobos  National Park.

Zimbabwe has everything from white water rafting down the mighty Zambezi to wild life viewing to visiting the ruins after which the country is now named. This is a country known for it’s dramatic landscape, diverse wildlife and friendly people.

When visiting Zimbabwe please check if you need a visa. Most European countries do.The USD is the currency used in Zimbabwe but it is advisable to bring cash, you can check the current conversion rate here. Most bank machines are in short supply of cash.
